Is Liposuction right for you?

  • Thigh Fat, Back Fat, Arm Fat and Saggy Tummies affect everyone

Fatty deposits affect men and women equally. You can be vigorous with your health and fitness plan yet still have stubborn back fat, saggy arms or excess thigh & hip fat that keeps you feeling uncomfortable in your own body, and like your clothes don’t quite fit. Stomach or back & hips have a pouch that hangs over your swim shorts and bikini? Do your hips or thighs have a bulge of flab you can’t get rid of? It’s not your fault, and lipo is not just for women.

  • Near your ideal weight

Liposuction (also referred to as just “lipo”) benefits men and women who are at, or near, their ideal weight but still have disproportionate localized deposits of fat that are resistant to the effects of exercise and dieting. Your trouble spots may vary based on your gender, family genetics and health plan, but everyone has hard to eliminate fat deposits. Stop blaming yourself and getting frustrated. If you’re interested in how liposuction can help reduce and even eliminate those trouble spots contact Pacific Surgical Center for your FREE CONSULTATION.

  • Balance out the proportions of your body

Men and women look to liposuction to balance the proportions of their body. To achieve this, lipo is often combined with other helpful procedures, such as a tummy tuck to help eliminate loose skin from weight loss or after a birth. Women will often get a tummy tuck procedure (abdominoplasty) while also getting a breast augmentation and Brazilian butt lift (sometimes referred to as a “Mommy Makeover” procedure when done as a package). Patients who also have loose skin in addition to excess fat in some areas frequently get lipo to arms, thighs or back fat with a tummy tuck or body lift procedure to enhance their overall result. Breast reduction procedures (via traditional techniques or via liposuction) is popular with both women and men, especially after major weight loss.

  • How it’s done

The surgeon takes pre-op photos and marks targeted areas on the body while the patient is in a standing position. Medications are administered for your comfort during the procedure. Sometimes, general anesthetic is used so that you remain asleep for the duration of the procedure. However, liposuction may also be performed using a combination of local anesthesia and intravenous sedation.

  • Less bleeding, bruising, skin irregularities and a speedier recovery

Typically, liposuction incisions are very small (about 1/8 to 1/2-inch each) and your surgeon will take care to place the incisions where they will be well hidden in natural body creases whenever possible. Several benefits of this technique include less bleeding, bruising, skin irregularities and a speedier recovery. It is also performed as an outpatient procedure avoiding a costly hospital stay.

After surgery, you will be taken to a recovery area where you will likely be given a compression garment to wear to control swelling in the treated areas and help your skin conform to your new body shape. You will likely go home after a few hours, unless your surgeon determines that you need to stay in the facility overnight. When you do go home, arrange for someone to drive you to and from the surgery and stay with you for at least 24 hours.
